Suggested Community Work Service Sites

The following list gives contact information for in-person community service sites that have worked with AYC in the past. However, you are not limited to sites on this list. Contact the Case Coordinator if you have questions about whether an organization counts as a Community Work Service Site.

Please make sure that an adult supervisor signs off on your logged hours of community service.

The Anchorage Public Library is offering a series of Teen Life Skills Classes on a wide range of topics, including CPR and first aid, job interviewing, bike repair, and personal finance. Anyone going into grades 7-12 is welcome to attend. You can see the schedule of these workshops by clicking on this link: Teen Life Skills Series - Anchorage Public Library (anchoragelibrary.org)

For every hour you spend in these workshops, we will credit you for two hours of community work service. Please make sure to bring your community work service log to each workshop to have an adult sign off on the hours you complete. Put a star next to these hours, so I know to credit you double! Your community work service log is located in your sentencing packet. I am also attaching a PDF of the log to this email. Note: You do NOT need to tell anyone at the workshop that you are completing community work service as part of your sentence. You can simply say that you are looking to get community work service hours for an organization that you are involved in😊

Youth and Parent Surveys

Please complete the following surveys and submit your responses to coordinator@anchorageyouthcourt.org. Each survey counts as 1 hour of Community Work Service. Thank you!

Essay Assignment

A judge may have ordered you to complete an essay as part of your sentence. You can find the directions for the essay assignment here. If you have difficulty completing your essay for any reason, please contact the Case Coordinator.

NOTE: If you are completing a sentence as part of a long-term suspension, your essay assignment looks a little different. Please scroll down to see the ASD Long-Term Suspension Essay Assignment. Thank you!
